Week 3

                                       New Learning

 I have recently learnt how to make sandwich rolls in food tech and next week we will be making mama mia snack pack pizzas. My
one is called Lambo. We practised high jump yesterday. The highest Mrs. A put it up to was 1m 10. It looked very high from where I was standing. Yesterday we had Mrs. Lovatt after morning tea, and we practiced the school's way of tee ball. Just for lunchtime sport and today we're playing at lunchtime sport. I hope we win.

week 2

My new learning... So far I have been remembering that we have learned how to use a vortex and we felt how heavy the shot puts are. They're very heavy. I can't wait until we do disks. We even did long jump in the stone pit. Today we made our timetable of the week. We have an inquiry grid where we get to decide what to choose as an activity. So far I have chosen to do house-to-rent.

Week 7

This week I have learnt that learning a different language translated to Spanish means Aprender un Idioma diferente. In Mandarin, I learnt the numbers up to ten starting from 0. 0= Ling  1= Yi  2= Er  3= San  4= Si  5= Wu  6= Liu  7= Qi 8= Ba  9= Jiu  10= Shi. For social dancing, we recently practised the rock' n roll hold. It was hilarious, I guess I kind of liked it.

Week 3

This last session for science tech I have learnt about heat and cold air. The tech group and I watched Ms Hawtin light a match to flame a tea bag without the tea. She said there was a column between the bag and the ceiling. And everyone's eyes were glued on to the paper when it flew in the air, and when the flame would blow out the tea bag would float down. Kaylah, Jo and I thought it was going to land on Ms Hawtin's face. We also learnt about atoms and how they worked. Now I know that the universe is made out of matter, and the matter is made out of atoms. 

                                               Maths 
For maths Jo, Kaylah and I played with the pack of cards, after we did our maths buddy and the great martini of course. After our tasks on maths buddy we played speed skills, it was crazy fun, we had quite a few races and I only won once, but whatever. Then we played with the pack of cards. First, we played add on where we all flipped one card and we had to add them all up together. Then Jo got bored so she just laid on the couch and watched. Meanwhile, Kaylah and I were playing snap and it was funny. 😂😂😄😄😂😂

                    Why Are My Eyes Brown?             

 Genetically your eye colour can depend on your parents as you may have their gene. So your mum might have brown eyes but your dad may have blue eyes so, if you have brown eyes then you have your mum's gene or, if you have blue eyes then you have your dad's gene. It's that simple because when you are born you have at least someone's gene, not knowing who though. Certain emotions can change the pupil size and the iris colour when the pupil size changes, the pigments in the iris that could spread apart. That's why some people say their eyes change colours when they're angry or loving. However, some hazel eyes actually get darker as you age.

Week 1

                                                                     New Learning
So far for this week, I have learnt about the science fair and how it works, and what you have to do to be a part of it. For tech, I am Science.  We are making rockets and we are learning how to fire our rockets off big plastic bottles. For maths we' re learning to understand weights and measurements and how to convert between them.  I learnt new hockey skills and I now no longer dislike hockey. I learnt how to juggle a hockey ball on a hockey stick.

Week 7

                                    This Weeks Learning

This week I had my injection for immunisation. It still hurts for some reason. Mrs.August says it is normal, but it feels really sore and I bet no one feels my pain. I would go home but I want to walk with my friend and scooter at the same time. Other than that I haven't learnt much. I did finish my advertisement for my invention now I am making an innovation for a song. I need lot's of talented voices to be starring in my next video. I might look through the class for some talent. That's pretty much it. 

Week 6

                                      My Learning Goals

My writing goal is to identify and use all 8 words accurately. As well as include expressive and precise nouns, verbs, adverbs and adjectives as well as academic and subject-specific vocabulary.

For maths, I need to count in fractions forwards and backwards. Also, read and write decimals to three places. I need to practise ordering unit fractions with different denominators a lot.                                                                                                                                                                                           

Week 3

                              New Learning                                        

I learnt a special new way to do the 9x using my fingers. It was a bit odd at first but helpful in the end. My new learning goals are to get better at using my fingers to do my 9x. I will try to get better at handing writing on time and catch up on homework. I would like to try out for more sports. Get out more reading books from the library. I would like some more writing assignments. So that I can learn to write with more spice (detail) and punctuation.

Technology

 In an emergency, we can be without electricity. The 'Get Ready Get Thru' website says we need a torch and spare batteries. At Electronics Technology class I am going to design and make an Emergency Light for myself.

week 5 new learning

For this whole, week,  I learnt that some people are cruel to animals rather for their fur or to get some attention for hurting a rare creature. I also learnt that gravity is a scientific word for, force. I learnt what is in a softball and what the risks are for animals due to global warming is as, inquiry topics.

 As a P.E goal I must step forward with my weak foot when I play softball. In maths I must round of 100 as a math learning goal. 

Week 11

                                         New Learning      

Today I learnt that Russia has a Prime minister and a president. I also learnt Russia's currency is Russian ruble, compared to ours we have a simple currency called, New Zealand dollar.  

 For art, I now know what scratchy art is and how to make it stand out, even if it means that it isn't the best looking. I just realised that I'm not the best at art or scratchy art or colouring a tiki. I learnt new things on the website Sumdog. Electives sound interesting. However, there are rules and even though you can still have fun with rules they will probably take so long just to explain it. By using long sentences. 

                                         

                                       

Week 9

On Monday I learnt line dancing and that the great vine is popular. I learnt that cats purr because of their vocal cords. I learnt what the real A7 looks like and sounds like in music when I play the guitar. I finally noticed that we do social dancing when it is a rainy day for P.E. Today we started an egg competition and well, among others, I lost. I hit my egg off the desk and I learnt how to clean it off the floor with a paper towel and a sponge. I realised that after the death of the egg the smell goes up people's noses and eww sounds come out of the mouth. I learnt a new website called the great martini for multiplication and division, and another site called quest garden for german sight words like numbers and the alphabet, in german.

Week 8

                                                                   New Learning
Today I found out that I made it into choir and I had just found out about a new website called Prezi thanks to Ms.Lovatt. Joana and I finished our second inquiry question today and I added images to my Prezi presentation  (as soon as I knew how to). I learnt what treble clefs and where Em is on guitar. I learnt that a teacher thought we didn't know how to play non-stop tag. At house assembly, I learnt that punctuation marks save lives and make a huge difference. I realised that I made new friends. Which was hard to do because there are so many kids at H.N.I. I finally found a new song called that's what I like, but I do not like it.

Week 7

It's week 7 and I learnt lots more things about Sir Edmund Hillary and I learnt more bass clefs in guitar lessons and hey I now know what bass clefs are. Sir Edmund Hillary had two kids, he is on the five dollar note, he was the first person to climb Mt.Everest. He was born on the 20th of July in Auckland 1919 and he died 11th of January 2008. He also had two siblings and 3 children  and he was not alone when he climbed Mt.Everest. There were 13 different people with Sir Ed Hillary when he was climbing Mt.Everest. 

For inquiry I have been doing a presentation on how do people become gifted and I have offered Nora to present my slideshow and she said yes. Hopefully I get to present my inquiry today. I have been working really hard and I am so ready to present just not talk to everyone especially since I will be at the front of the classroom. I don't like everyone staring at me because my mouth starts to move and a few words come out but I don't know what they are sometimes. They just fly out.
